GP Advisory Commitee (Nov 2019)

Taking my passion for GP engagement to a new extreme, I pioneered and launched the San’s first GP Advisory Committee.

The idea and concept was to replicate the known and established concept of a Consumer Advisory Committee, but do this with 10 community GPs. It was important that these included a majority of GPs from each of the surrounding suburbs, to try to ensure diversity as much as posssible.

In this way, the hospital could share and get feedback on new services, strategic plans, and ensure any efforts that relate to GPs had direct and regular consultation.

Sadly, with due to the pandemic, the meetings became online-video conferences.

I appreciate the willingness of these esteemed and senior GPs that volunteered their time - many of whom I’m still in contact with to this day.
